Documentation guides for roofing contractors and their office teams

Working guides for the people who build insurance files: the reps on the roof, the production manager, and whoever writes the estimate. They cover what a file needs and how each roof line item is supported, with code references labelled by edition and a reminder to check what's adopted locally.

Start with the file, then the line items

These guides deal with documenting the scope of work you perform. They aren't coverage or legal advice. Coverage questions go to the carrier, a licensed public adjuster or an attorney.

What to include when you send a supplement or estimate file

The photos to take and in what order, the measurement report, the carrier's current estimate, your trades and product lines, code and permit notes, and your inspection notes, set out as checklists your crew can run before a job leaves the field.

Roof scope line items to check on a first estimate

Drip edge, starter, ice and water barrier, ridge cap, step and counter flashing, pipe jacks, steep and high charges, waste, and detach-and-reset items. For each: why it can be missed and what supports it (a photo, a measurement, a code section where adopted, or a manufacturer instruction).

Rather hand the file to a team that works this way?

We work inside your CRM, on the trades you perform. On the intro call we'll ask what you install, which CRM your jobs live in, and where files stall.

Files are shared through your CRM once you're onboarded.
