Why SureClaims

Four roles on a file, and all four work for the contractor

SureClaims is the estimating and supplement team for roofing and restoration contractors who run insurance work at volume. We work inside your CRM, document only the trades you perform, and support your estimate. We don't represent the homeowner.

On a file

  1. Estimator
  2. Supplementer
  3. Follow-up coordinator
  4. Account manager
  5. You, the contractor

All in the same place: the job in your CRM.

01 / The team

Who does what on a file

A file isn't handed to one person to estimate, supplement and chase. It's split across four roles, and all four work in the same place: the job in your CRM.

Estimator

Builds the estimate in Xactimate or Symbility from your photos, measurements and scope notes. Writes the revision when the carrier responds or when you ask for a change.

Supplementer

Compares the carrier's scope with the scope your crew will install, line by line, and prepares the supplement with support for each added item.

Follow-up coordinator

Tracks your open files and logs each update on the job, so you can see where each file stands.

Account manager

Your contact. Sets up your company profile, keeps your priorities straight, and is the one to call when a file is stuck.

You (the contractor)

You have a role on the file too. You sell the job, inspect it, take the photos and measurements, and own the customer. Your approval is its own stage before a file closes out.

02 / The standard

What has to be true before a line item goes on a supplement

An added item has to pass four checks. If it can't, it stays off.

  1. It's your trade.

The item belongs to a trade you perform, as set in your company profile. We don't add work your crews don't do.

  2. The job requires it.

It's part of the work your crew will install on this roof.

  3. The quantity traces to a measurement.

Squares, linear feet and counts come from the measurement report or your crew's hand measurements.

  4. The reason is written down.

Where a code section applies, we cite it, noting that it applies where adopted locally. Where the manufacturer's installation instructions call for it, we cite those. Where a photo shows it, the item points to the photo.

Built this way, each added item can be traced to a trade, a requirement, a quantity and a reason.

What we do, and what we don't

We're engaged and paid by contractors to support the contractor's estimate. That decides where our work stops.

What we do

  • We write estimates in Xactimate and Symbility.
  • We prepare supplement documentation for the scope you perform.
  • We track open files and log each update on the job.
  • We revise the estimate when the carrier responds or when you ask.
  • We post updates on the job in your CRM.
  • You keep the relationship with your customer.

What we don't do

  • We are not a public adjuster.
  • We don't represent homeowners or policyholders.
  • We don't interpret insurance policies or give coverage or legal advice.
  • We don't negotiate claim settlements.
  • We don't add trades you don't perform.
  • We don't offer anything tied to a homeowner's deductible.

Coverage decisions are made by the insurance carrier. If a homeowner has a coverage question, it goes to the carrier, or to a licensed public adjuster or attorney the homeowner chooses.

04 / The alternative

Hiring a supplementer, or bringing in SureClaims

The other way to get this work done is to hire for it. Here's what each option looks like day to day.

Ask how a file of yours would be staffed

Bring your volume, your CRM and the file types you run most. We'll go through who'd do what.

Files are shared through your CRM once you're onboarded.
